Beginnings are always exciting. In WEC, there’s a new decade, new rules, new cars. But no new manufacturers.
It was obvious that Toyota would be continuing since they unveiled the GR Super Sports.
And the Aston Martin deal was a done deal a week ago.
Ford already opted out.
Other than that, you don’t see others rushing in to join. Unfortunately.

SCG has been publicly developing the 003 for this class for a while now, so that’s 3 manufacturers.

Except the 003 was never meant for hypercar, it was purely developed for SP9/SPX from the start. You’re looking for the 007.

No surprises, but welcome developments either way. Even if we assume that Aston Martin are just testing the waters, the next seasons will have a headline fight guaranteed . And whoever wins...we benefit.
Plus, every other marque gets to see this development and can gauge their treasury for a shot at Le Mans glory. We may only have two now, but we might have two more.

Nope, Kolles hold off. Porsche did something similar (in less of a team-ending scale, mind) when CORE Autosport, the IMSA team ran old cars and Proton was the only “factory” rep before the 2017 MR racer came out (and destroyed the relevance of the OG not-MR 911 RSR for the rest of time ).
